January 11, 2023

January 11, 2023         My schedule for Jan. 16-20: T (PM), W (AM), F – St. Martin; T (AM), W (PM), Th – St. Al’s

To our St. Martin of Tours School Families:

Here is a list of some upcoming activities here at school:

Wednesday, January 11 – Progress Reports released in Option C
Thursday, January 12 – Mass, 8:00am
Monday, January 16 – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day – NO SCHOOL
Thursday, January 19 – Mass, 8:00am
Sunday, January 22 – Open House, 12:30pm-2:00pm

Progress Reports should be available this evening, if they are not available, please try again in the morning. You must
log in to Option C under your parent/guardian account and under the “Student” tab you will see a “Report Cards” link.
Click on the “Report Card” link and that will bring you to the page where you can select the Trimester 2 Progress Report
for viewing. Please review the Progress Report with your child/children and if you have any concerns, you can contact
your child/children’s homeroom teacher.

Starting this month, we begin to look at preparing for the 2023-2024 school year. In that respect, enrollment for the
2023-2024 school year will begin for Kindergarten and our current families in February! We reserve February for our
current families to enroll so we can ensure there is space for any new students who wish to enroll. Enrollment packets
are being prepared and will be sent home soon!

On Sunday, January 22, we will have our Open House from 12:30pm-2:00pm for any family who wishes to come to
see our wonderful school and get enrollment information. If you know of any family who has an incoming Kindergartner
or other children and they are looking for a school for the 2023-2024 school year, this is a perfect time for them to come
and see what St. Martin of Tours has to offer! You can pass on the school phone number to anyone – 513-661-7609 –
and folks are welcome to call us and get more information.

Today is the day that the Catholic high schools are permitted to send our 8th graders information regarding
acceptance for 2023-2024. There seems to be a trend that high schools are sending out emails, but some may still use
snail-mail, so if you don’t hear today, please be patient (I know that’s not easy – trust me)! Again, if you need any
assistance with this process, please let us know.

Thank you for all you do!

Sincerely,

Mr. Jason Fightmaster

This is a very exciting time for our 8th graders – the Catholic High Schools will be sending out their decision letters on Wednesday, January 11! You may receive an email on that day or you may receive a packet in the mail a couple of days later, so try to be patient! We are hoping and praying that you are all accepted into the schools that you applied to – please know that if you need anything during this process, we will help you as best we can, just let us know!

December 14, 2022

December 14, 2022 - My schedule for Dec. 19-20: M (AM), T (PM) – St. Martin; M (PM), T (AM) – St. Al’s

To our St. Martin of Tours School Families:

Here is a list of some upcoming activities here at school:

Thursday, December 15 – Mass, 8:00am
Monday, December 19 – Grades K-5 Christmas Performance, 7:00pm in the Gym
Tuesday, December 20 – Pajama Day (see more information below)
Wednesday, December 21-Tuesday, January 3 – CHRISTMAS BREAK, NO SCHOOL
Wednesday, January 4 – Classes resume

All K-5 students should have received the informational flyer/permission slip for the Christmas performance on Monday, Dec. 19. Please return this form as soon as possible. The doors to the Activity Center/Gym will open promptly at 6:30pm and all students need to be here by 6:45pm. Students will go to their homeroom to check in and get ready for their performance. Please DO NOT use the Main entrance or the Harding entrance, as no one will be in the office to answer the door. After the performance, students will return to their classrooms and parents/guardians will pick up their child/children from there.

If you are looking for a way to “give back” this holiday season, the church and school are currently taking collections to ensure our students have a hot lunch each day. Donations can be made at the Parish Office, the School Office, in the collection basket at Mass (marked “Lunch Donations”), and online at https://www.wesharegiving.org/app/giving/WeShare-1569?tab=home – select “Donations for School Lunches”. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

If you are in need of a meal for Christmas, the St. Martin of Tours St. Vincent de Paul Society can help. You need to contact them at 513-661-0085 by the end of business TODAY so they can plan for you as the meal distribution is this Saturday!

On Tuesday, December 20, we will have a Pajama Day! The staff and students are welcome to come to school wearing their best PJ’s (Christmas PJ’s would be GREAT). As always, there are guidelines, so PLEASE pay close attention to them: NO rips, tears, or holes; NO "spaghetti straps" or sleeveless shirts (shoulders must be covered), NO "crop tops" (stomachs/backs must be covered), NO sandals/crocs/clogs/flipflops - closed toed/closed heeled shoes must be worn, NO hats, bottoms should be of an appropriate length, NO hooded sweatshirts. Please note that not all guidelines can be listed and the school staff will have the final say of what is appropriate and what is inappropriate. If clothing is deemed inappropriate, we will call home and other clothes will need to be brought to school. It would be great if you could ensure your child/children are dressed appropriately to help make things go as smoothly as possible!

There will not be a letter from me for the next couple of weeks due to Christmas Break. I do sincerely hope and pray that all of you have a Blessed and Merry Christmas and a fantastic start to your New Year! Thank you for all you do!

Sincerely,

Mr. Jason Fightmaster
